New IT-Library
Last update: 03-01-2008 02:02 PMCopenhagen University Library, the IT-University of Copenhagen and the Department of Computer
Science (University of Copenhagen) have signed a five-year contract for library services. The
strategy behind this cooperation aims to collect knowledge in order to spread it to as many as
possible. The three institutions will coordinate access to electronic resources as well as
develop a collection of 12,000 physical volumes.
Cooperation will start in the autumn of 2007. The IT-Library will be run as a branch of
Copenhagen University Library South due to the location of the IT-University of Copenhagen as
neighbour to the South Campus of the University of Copenhagen (Amager) and its head will be Hans
Kristian Mikkelsen.
Library service will be Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. In 2006 there were 1.500 students at the IT-University. The reading room of the library has 100 single reader's desks and a mini-lounge will be set up for groups and meetings.
