Publication of Carl Nielsen's works with commentary in 35 volumes

The Royal Library celebrates the completion of a thoroughly revised edition of Carl Nielsen's complete works.  Of the 7,000 pages of music nearly a third has never before been published. Insofar as these pieces have been played since their composition, it has been from handwritten notes filled with corrections, crossings out and witticisms added by various musicians from time to time.

Now Nielsen's production is available for study as a whole; researchers have a reliable set of scores; musicologists have access to the circumstances of composition for each of Nielsen's works and a decent edition of the music has been provided from which musicians can play.
