Digital Development and Production (DDP)

The department consists of two sections: DDP Online and Digital Objects. The section Digital Objects also comprises the Copy Service and the Photographic Studio.

The duties of the Department of Digital Development and Production are the editorial and technical tasks related to the development and operation of the library’s website. In addition, the department must ensure that publication of the library’s collections and services on the website www.kb.dk meets the multifaceted requirements and expectations of the users of modern web publication.

The duties/tasks of the department include:

  • Structuring of the content of the website of the Royal Library www.kb.dk to provide a self-service platform for the public to obtain knowledge.
  • Collection, publication, and storage of digital documents and works and continuous development of web-based library services.
  • Participation in various national and international development projects and networks as e.g. Denmark’s Electronic Research Library – with a view to creating and promoting virtual information systems.
  • Operation of the web servers of The Royal Library, Copenhagen.
