Understanding Nature - from fables to systems
Last update: 03-01-2008 02:04 PM 2 October 2007 - 29 December 2007Man is by nature curious.
Without his sense of curiosity we would not have achieved our considerable scientific results.
DNA, genetic engineering and cell division - historically speaking biological reserach has come a very long way, but science is inexhaustible. New knowledge always gives rise to new questions. This year, in which the world celebrates the 300th anniversary of the birth of the famous systematist Carl von Linné, The Royal Library brings into focus some of natural history's scientific advances by staging the exhibition Understanding Nature - from fables to systems. The exhibition shows extracts from the works that have furthered biological research as well as those that have led it astray.
A labyrinthine development with many torturous processes and blind alleys!
The exhibition is created in cooperation with Copenhagen University Library North.
