When the first international Carl Nielsen chamber music contest for string quartet and wind quintet had to determine its winners, the jury was in no doubt that Quatuor Arod would be announced.

Four very young talented French musicians in Quatuor Arod played directly into the hearts of both the audience and the jury throughout all three rounds. Their interpretation of Carl Nielsen's G-minor quartet in the finale was refreshing, new and exhilarating. They convincingly won both the first prize in the string quartet category and the prize for best performance of new music. Part of the prize was the opportunity to play a concert in the Queen's Hall, which took place on April 2, 2016.

Since then, the Quartet has won first prize at the ARD competition in Munich, 2016, and has toured around the world. It is therefore an extra pleasure to invite the young quartet back to perform again at the Black Diamond.

Wine Tasting at Søren K before the concert

Restaurant Søren K holds a winetasting at 19:00 before the evening’s concert. There will be a focus on French wine, where one of the quartet members will come and tell about what they prefer when it comes to great wine, and what has been chosen for you to taste.

The wine tasting has limited seats and requires and extra ticket. 120 kr.
