Camerata Øresund plays an evening of baroque Christmas highlights and ends with common singing.

For the third consecutive year, it is Camerata Øresund, which in cooperation with The Royal Library opens the doors to the Black Diamond’s Christmas Concert spectacular. Highlights from Baroque Christmas music are to be both played and sung, such as arias from Handel’s Messiah and excerpts from Bach's Christmas Oratorio.  The concert ends with the singing of Christmas songs by Camerata Øresund singers and orchestra members.

This evening of music will pair very well with a refreshing glass of gløgg in the house's café.

Camerata Øresund consists of young talented instrumentalists and singers from both Denmark and Sweden and is thus a unifying unit in the Øresund Region. Since its establishment in 2010, the ensemble has managed to grow into one of the most visible baroque music ensembles in Denmark - largely because of its innovative and new thought provoking approach to classical music. With its dynamic and vibrant playing, Camerata Øresund breathes new life into the baroque repertoire, thus breaking the current norms of classical music and moving barriers between musicians and audiences. The orchestra therefore focuses especially on the younger generation of concertgoers who seek inspiration and experiences across genres.

Camerata Øresund, as one of its main objectives, discovers tomorrow’s baroque soloists and offers them a platform and a starting point for continuing their career. Camerata Øresund has previously been able to present soprano Eline Soelmark and mezzo-soprano Francine Vis.
