International Authors' Stage Ingo Schulze, one of Germany's most well-acclaimed and award-winning authors, is one of the principal names of this season's Authors’ Stage. Over a period of time he has written some of the most important works of the Wende-literature (literature about the fall of the Wall), and several critics have called him "the voice of the reunification of Germany." In Danish, his most recent publication is Adam og Evelyn, 2009, a grotesque and tragicomic description of the turbulent period shortly before the collapse of East Germany. It is a story of the tailor Adam living in a stormy relationship with Evelyn in a nervous society, a society which gradually becomes more and more frustrated with GDR and the communist regime. Ingo Schulze will be in conversation with Per Øhrgaard. Actress Linda Elvira Magnussen reads passages from the book. |
