International Authors’ Stage The International Authors’ Stage is presenting a number of Germany’s foremost and internationally most acclaimed authors: Günter Grass, Hans Magnus Enzensberger, Siegfried Lenz and Juli Zeh. This year it will be 20 years since the wall between East and West Germany came down. The four authors are each in their own way part of the dramatic history surrounding the partition of Germany in 1949 and the fall of the wall in 1989. By virtue of their literary works and sociopolitical commitment, they have contributed to a discussion about art, culture and politics extending far beyond the borders of Germany. During the spring the authors will visit the Royal Library, where an audience can experience them talking about their authorship, and there will be readings from their current books. In conversation with Steen Bille (author and journalist at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation), Günter Grass will talk about his authorship on the basis of Germany’s dramatic history.
